The next Round Robin Tennis
Social will be held on Sunday – August 2nd from 4:00 to 6:00
PM.
Please remember that
children must wear tennis shoes and proper attire when on the tennis
courts. Bare feet and sandals are
not permitted.
Tennis Round Robin Socials
There will be several Adult
Round Robin Tennis Socials this year scheduled to coincide with club social
events. This is a great way to meet
other members who enjoy tennis and play some casual doubles matches. Play is limited to the first 20 players
to arrive for the round robin.

Women’s Tennis Team
The Women’s Team
competes in the local Mount Vernon Community Tennis League. Matches are played on Friday mornings,
and the team practices on Tuesday and Thursday mornings and Wednesday evenings.

The 7 week season will
start on June 15th and end by July 31st. Practices will be held on Monday,
Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.
Matches are typically played on Wednesday morning and Sunday afternoon. Registration is $45 per player. Team
T-shirts are available for an additional $10. Players
should be able to serve and rally in order to participate.

and waiver
forms to the Guard Desk. Deadline
for registration is Monday – June 1, 2009.

Junior Tennis Clinics
Tennis clinics for boys and
girls will be offered during the 2009 season. Clinics are ideal for boys and
girls just beginning to learn the game.
Clinics will be limited to a maximum of 12 children per session with a ratio of 4
players per Instructor. The fee is
$30.00 per week per player. Clinics
will be held on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday each week from 10:00 to11:00 AM for ages 8 and under and from 11:00 AM to
Noon for ages 9 and over.

Private Tennis Lessons
Private tennis lessons for juniors and adults are available through our
Tennis Instructors.
You should contact the Tennis Instructors directly to schedule your
lessons.

Lessons are 1 hour minimum, the fee is $20/hour per Individual lesson or
$25/hour for 2 persons. Payments
should be made directly to the Instructor.
Court 1 is reserved for private tennis lessons under the supervision of
our Tennis Instructors.
Tennis Rules &
Regulations
AVAILABILITY
Courts are available to all HMSTC
members in good standing and their registered guests.
HOURS OF OPERATION
9:00 AM – 9:00 PM Daily
TIME LIMIT OF PLAY
When others are waiting, play
should cease on the hour. If a set is near completion, the players may, with
the permission of those waiting to play, finish the set.
TOURNAMENT AND LEAGUE PLAY
Both are under the supervision of
the Tennis Chair, Team Captain, or other designated person. Other rules may be
waived during tournament or league play. Courts are reserved during team play.
GUESTS
Guests must register at the
guard’s desk. The guest’s name must appear with
“guest” written beside it on the sign-in sheet at the guard’s
desk. A guest fee is applicable.
JUNIORS
Any player under 18 years of age,
unless working full time, is considered a JUNIOR. Adults have preference in
using the courts after 5:00 PM and on weekends. This does not preclude Juniors
from playing when courts are not in use.
SHOES
Only smooth-soled tennis shoes are
permitted on the courts. ROLLER SKATES, ROLLER BLADES, HOCKEY, and SKATE BOARDS
are not allowed on the courts at any time. Bare feet, sandals, etc. are
not permitted.
CHILDREN
Children will not be permitted to
disturb players. Pets are not permitted on the courts at any time.
COURT MAINTENANCE
The tennis facilities should be
treated with care and kept clean. Players and observers should leave with
everything they brought with them into the court area. This includes any trash.
The last player off the court is responsible for locking the gate.
COURT ETIQUETTE
All players and spectators are
expected to observe tennis etiquette. In retrieving balls or crossing courts,
players will wait for a break in play.
